Whether you are a full-time mom working outside of the home or a full-time stay-at-home mom, we are all busy. As we start 2022, I want to help you be organized with these top 5 tips. Scroll down to check them out.
As a busy mom, I’ve done all of these scenarios for 18 years; full-time out of the home worker, full-time stay-at-home, part-time, and everything in between. Per the new norm in 2022, I am currently working full-time out of the home as running my lifestyle brand.
All that to say, no matter where you are as a mom, we can all agree that we are busy in this day and age. And, I am here to help!
One of the best ways to manage life’s stress and busyness is by staying (or starting) organized. Being organized makes the logistics run more smoothly and lightens your load mentally. You will find yourself less stressed and tired at the end of the day.
When we are less stressed, we are kinder to those around us. Win-win!
The overarching theme for my five tips on how to be organized is intentionality. If you follow along with our podcast here, my husband and I talk about intentionality a lot. It’s a running theme in how we approach our parenting, marriage, health, etc.
Naturally, it spills over to the tips I’ll be sharing with you today then. Are you ready to check them out?
There are hundreds of great articles on moms and planning that I encourage you to check out. I am going to keep it simple in this post. My point in this post is to emphasize the critical need to PLAN!
Many of us are inclined to set new goals in the new year, which is excellent if you do that! Learning how to be organized may have been one of your goals for 2022, and that is why you are here!
I would encourage you to focus on habits and routines that center around being organized. Check out one of my favorite authors, James Clear, and his book on Atomic Habits.

A big part of staying organized is keeping your home de-cluttered. I am the first to say this is hard for me! I work with many brands that send me home decor and more, so keeping things going out as new items come in is critical.
We all accumulate things over time, and as we do, it can add stress and disorganization to our home.
Are you ready to start this in your home? Then check out some of these overhauls I’ve shared that were once hotspots of clutter in our home but are now clean and de-cluttered:
As far as cleaning goes, I have daily, weekly, and seasonal cleaning tasks. You can find more on that HERE!
Right?! Getting organized is not just a task for you, mom! You can help lead the charge of getting the ball rolling, but all family members need to be involved in helping the family stay organized.
How do we do this? We have a family group text (we have three teens and one elementary-age child) where we drop all kinds of things: grocery item wish lists/needs, day-to-day social plans/homework load/work schedules, etc.
We also often communicate around the home about things! Make sure you are making time and opportunities for conversation.
As for my husband, we have our favorites and initiate those. Our children will hop in and help in one way or another with those. Andy is our in-home cook and makes 99% of our dinners. I love washing dishes (I know, I know), so I am happy to clean up the dinner.
This is so important! Make time to stop, look around you, and be in the moment, whether with your child for 10 minutes throwing the football or lining up a manicure each month to sit and relax.
