This is my mom’s delicious sweet potato casserole recipe. Our family has been enjoying this dish for years, especially during the fall and at Thanksgiving.  You will love how easy it is; frankly, it is the best sweet potato casserole out here!

 

Our whole family loves my mom’s sweet potato casserole recipe! My mom has been making this casserole for as long as I can remember. We would eat it any time of year, but specifically, I recall it on Thanksgiving. I am so happy to be sharing her recipe with you in this post. It is easy to make and truly the best sweet potato casserole I’ve eaten.

Sweet Potato Casserole

Ingredients:

• 3 cups cooked, mashed sweet potatoes (canned may be used if drained)
• 3/4 cup sugar
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 2 eggs
• 1/2 stick butter
• 1/2 cup milk
• 1 tsp. vanilla

Mix all ingredients, pour into greased baking dish.

Topping Ingredients (Optional):

• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1/3 cup flour
• 1 cup chopped pecans
• 1/3 stick butter, melted

Stir together and sprinkle over the casserole.

Directions:

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to an hour (until cooked thoroughly and bubbling on the sides).

Serves 4-6

Can you imagine how yummy it smells? It filled the house with such a delicious aroma when baking.  My daughter came home from school and immediately fixed herself a plate. I hope you will enjoy this as much as we do!
