Summer Home Tour 2022: Entryway and Living Room

The coffee table is close up

Welcome friend! I am so thrilled you are here at our summer home tour, where I will be sharing our light and welcoming entryway and living room.

You can shop our summer home on my Amazon storefront HERE.

Welcome to our home, the Blanks!

You can check out last year’s summer home tours here and here. You will tour our kitchen, bedrooms, living room, and dining room.

I am thrilled it is time again for summer home tours, and this year is full of inspiration!

If you came from my friend Jennifer of Cottage On Bunker Hill, how pretty was her summer in New England tour? I loved what she shared. And, a big thank you to my dear friend Kelly of The Tattered Pew for hosting this exciting home summer tour series.

Now, come on in, and welcome to our home!

Summer Entryway

Blue bench in the entryway

“A good first impression can work wonders.”-J.K. Rowling

I have shared this quote before and love it! Not only is it true of face-to-face interactions, but I find it relevant for our homes as well. Each season, I enjoy trying to create that feeling for family and friends that come to our home.

Farmhouse style entryway

I love how this sign (“May His Presence” sign, use code SHEGAVEITAGO for a discount) greets family and friends with hope as they enter our home. And, may you will feel these words of hope as well. Do you like words in your home too?

My summer color palette this year included whites, shades of blue, and beige.  While adding texture such as jute and greenery throughout.

That blue bench has been in our entryway for many years, and I have just swapped out the pillows seasonally.

The board and batten wall was a DIY you can find here.

Farmhouse Entryway

I moved this arched cabinet to our entryway from our kitchen, and I like the distressed look of it against our white walls.

How beautiful is this new artwork? It is called “Seaside” which is one of our favorite beaches to visit, so I instantly loved it. You can find it here (use code SHEGAVEITAGO for a discount).

Candle on top of books

An easy console table styling idea? Just add a stack of books with a great-smelling candle on top of them (favorite candles here), then to the left a vase with summer stems, and on the right a lamp. Easy as 1-2-3!

Now we will enter our living room which is connected to this foyer area.

Summer Living Room

Coffee table styling

“I love how summer just wraps its arms around you like a warm blanket.” – Kellie Elmore

3-wick candle on the coffee table

We have two sofas in our living that face each other and just got this naturally finished coffee table. I really love the size of it and its look.  You can find it here.

Protip: Head over to my Instagram feed, to see in action, how to style this coffee table!

Draping beads in a bowl can add some great texture next to a stack of coffee table books with a candle.  Do you see an easy styling pattern I did with these spaces?!

Wood beads in a bowl

Are you a faux or real house plant person? Regardless, this summer home decor tip doesn’t have any biases!

Just use them, faux or real. I loved adding faux plants to these spots for summer: the mantel, our kitchen, on a living room trunk, and in our dining room. The more, the merrier I am finding!

How pretty are these lambs’ ear stems in a white vase? Perfect for summer!

Pillows on the sofa for Summer

I traded out my old pillow covers for these creamy pillows. Also, don’t forget to swap your chunky knit blankets for lighter-weight blankets.  Hang them on a blanket ladder for display and easily accessible for use!

You can find this DIY HERE on how to make your own blanket ladder.   If you’d rather not make one, this is a great alternative!

Wondering about our fireplace/mantel area? All the details of our summer mantel are found in this post here.

And, that wraps up my living room and entryway summer home tour 2022. I am thrilled that you stopped by!

Now, head over to my friend, Kim of Cottage In The Mitten blog, to check out her bright cottage patio.  I know you will love it.
