If you are not a DIY-er, no worries; there are plenty of rustic blanket ladders you can buy online.  I am sharing my two favorites HERE and HERE.

My favorite way to decorate a blanket ladder is adding…you guessed it, blankets! But how you style them can be varied, and the weight/color/texture of blankets you use will change seasonally.

Blankets tri-folded on the rungs

Style One: Tri-fold Your Blanket

The first way to style a ladder is doing a tri-fold of your blanket, then draping and tucking on the rungs. You can see in the example above and below how this style has a crisp and uniform look.

As you can see, the thicker the blanket the more full the look.  It’s more of a personal preference, what you may have on hand, etc.

Style Two: Pinch and Tuck Your Blanket

The second way to style your farmhouse blanket ladder for the fall is a more casual look.  This style works better with less thick fabrics.

Simply pinch the middle of the blanket and tuck that into the back of the rung.  Once it’s secured, pull the blanket out to the length you like!

“Pinch and tuck” blankets

You can check out this style in the photo above and below. This method creates a draped look, which is less formal and more organic.
