Happy Fall, friend! I am so excited to have you stop by and visit our home for this fall tour. If you are coming from Ashley over at Modern Glam , welcome! Wasn’t her cozy fall kitchen so beautiful and full inspiration?! I am thrilled to be a part of the Seasonal Simplicity series hosted by Krista at The Happy Housie going on all week, and encourage you to hop around and enjoy the other tours today and the rest of the week! For my fall home, I enjoyed adding lots of fall colors outside and inside of our home, layers and various textures, and fall scents to make everything feel cozy and welcoming this year. Today, I will be sharing our front door, living room, and dining room styled for the fall months ahead.
Decorating our front door area is something I enjoy doing for our home each season! I shared five ideas for a lovely fall front door in this post. These suggestions will create a fabulous and welcoming first impression for friends and family alike. Having a wreath, pumpkins, straw bales or cornstalks, florals and plants, and themed decor items are all part of our fall front door this year. A fun way to amp up your fall front door mat? Add a layer! I placed a black and white geometric patterned rug under the fall mat. You can find the fall mat here.
As you enter into our home, you walk into a foyer/entryway space that is defined with a jute runner (found here) and a chalk painted bench and gallery wall area on your right. A cozy and chunky blanket (similiar one found here) placed in basket is perfect for fall. To the left this large fall sign that has one of my favorite quotes: “Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall” -F. Scott Fitzgerald. Isn’t this so true?! Using amber colored bottles instead of clear ones adds a great fall color to this vignette. A stack of white painted pumpkins on the other side offers balance.
Moving into the living room is a chippy white bowl that I found at a barn sale holding a DIY candle ring with my favorite fall candle found here. This candle DIY is easy and budget friendly, you can find all the details to make you own here. Having candles lit in your home for fall taps into one of the five senses making it feel all the more inviting. My favorite new fall scent? Autumn Woods, from Antique Candle Co., which is a perfect blend of woodsy musky and apples. Go check out all of my favorite fall candle scents here.
As you move into the living room area, one of my favorite chippy tables holds more amber bottles. Above the table I layered this sign on top of an arched mirror for a farmhouse style look. This sign has great meaning, as my grandfather pastored a local church here in Birmingham, Alabama for 36 years. This was the benediction he so often used all those years. I love having this as a reminder of him in our home.
During the cooler months, I enjoy having a fuller mantel, but not one that is cluttered. I shared 3 steps to help you create a lovely and warm mantel for fall here. My fall mantel decor included garland (found here), a wreath (found here), large wooden sign (found here), and some additional items like pumpkins (found here), large basket and blanket (found here). I love having our mantel styled for fall, it is one of the first spaces people see when coming into our home.
Moving into our dining room, I added this beautiful wreath and this garland to our buffet table. Apple spice is perfectly inline with farmhouse style. I then layered candlesticks and gathered several white pumpkins I already had on hand, of varying sizes and place them around the garland. I also added more candles that made this space smell and feel so cozy! All three candles can be found here.
Setting a table for fall was something I was so excited about! For this tablescape, I wanted to incorporate fall florals, emphasizing a pumpkin/rust color orange, along with some pumpkins which I set on my table and at each table setting. I also added candles for a nice, warm ambiance. I love the farmhouse look and knew that the overall look would reflect this style. For all the details on creating this lovely fall tablescape, head over here. Plus, there is a full list of the products I used to easily recreate this look in your own home.

Everything is absolutely perfect. Welcoming, warm and inviting! Those amber bottles add the perfect pop of color to your home. xoxo
Thank you so very much Ashley! What kind words, they are so meaningful to me.
Have a wonderful day,
Brendt xoxo
Your home is so warm and welcoming. I’m curious as to what church your grandfather pastored. I attended Samford University from 1972-1976. My friends and I visited several churches before choosing Dawson Memorial as our home church while in Birmingham.
Hi Jan!
It was indeed Dawson Memorial Baptist church, and what a wonderful connection we share then. I am so glad you asked, it means so much to know you were there while he was pastor.
Thank you for your kind words too!
Wishing you a beautiful day,
Brendt
Everything is just so lovely. You have such a great talent.
Thank you so much Pamela for stopping by! I appreciate your kind words, and wish you a beautiful day!
Brendt
I’m trying to organize my living room. Yours looks similar to my layout just a bit bigger. Can you post a picture of the entire room so I can get ideas?
