A few days ago, I returned home from the Haven conference, one of my favorite weekends each year. This was the fourth year I’ve attended, and I am already looking forward to next year. I wrote a post on “3 Things To Know About Haven Conference” that I’d encourage you to check out as well.
Whether you are a new or seasoned blogger, a brand looking to work with content creators, and/or have a social media platform, you don’t want to miss it. Specifically, this conference is for lifestyle brands with a niche in home DIYs, decor, and design.
Come check out the five reasons to attend the Haven Conference. They all start with “C”!
Being a lifestyle brand, I daily interact with my audience on social media and my blog. Many conversations have led to friendships that I am so grateful to have. Even better? I have met many of my peers at the Haven conference. It is seriously so fun to hang out for three days with those who are in the same field as you are.
Not only are you meeting friends in person, but you are networking to make new friendships! You will meet and be introduced to so many content creators and/or brands eager to partner with you. One of the best times is the opening party which is usually outside, where everyone is arriving and meeting one another. That takes us to reason two.
As a content creator, I am always looking for new brands to partner with. And brands are always looking for new content creators to partner with. At the Haven Conference, this is happening all weekend because both attend this conference. Some brands help sponsor the event, while others may take the amazing courses being offered.
Either way, it is so nice to network with one another in person!
Pro tip: If you are a content creator, make sure you have your media kit up to date so you can hand that out to the brands you connect with, as well as any business card/sticker. Many brands have amazing booths to visit in your downtime. Make that connection!
The amazing founders of the conference know that most attendees have their hands in making, creating, DIY-ing, so they offer amazing hands-on activities throughout the weekend. Whether it’s decorating cookies, hands-on wood projects with tools, or playing around with prop styling, these “extra sessions” are enjoyable.
Plus, while creating, you are building community with those around you!
Okay, so it’s time to get a little more serious, haha! Most people sign up to attend Haven conference to attend the course offered but learn quickly that there is so much in addtion to what will be taught. See points 1-3, haha!
I cannot say enough about the quality of workshops that are offered. No matter if you are a newbie or seasoned blogger, you will learn a ton! They give attendees options for each time classes are scheduled to attend a course that you feel is most relevant and valuable. Many are offered both days, so if you see two courses you love that happen to be offered simultaneously, you can check the schedule for the next day to see if it is offered again.
I was so excited to be a mentor again this year at Haven. The mentor program is such an important part of your experience at Haven. Each attendee is assigned a mentor, and each mentor group has around 15-20 mentees.
As a mentor, I am there to cheer on the attendees and help answer any questions that they have along the way. We met for three sessions over the course of the weekend and also had lunch together on Friday. Each session has an outline of information to focus on so that it can be a more intimate setting where others feel comfortable talking and asking questions than a big group format.
I cannot say enough about the Haven Conference. I hope if you’ve been hearing those of us talking about it on our social media platforms, you now know more about it all. If you had been debating attending, I hope that you are now planning to come next year…and I can’t wait to meet you.
This was my first Haven Conference, and I loved it! It was very helpful, and I enjoyed getting to meet you in person. The whole experience was wonderful!
