I am here to help you host a memorable Thanksgiving with the five tips I am sharing in this post. Walmart has a fantastic selection of items to help you prepare, serve, and enjoy time with your family and friends around the table.
I have learned from the best, my mom and mother-in-law, when it comes to hosting Thanksgiving. They have shown me what it is like to plan, prepare, and cook the meal and then serve it around a lovely table to us, their family.
These five tips are not overcomplicated and offer a simple yet effective way for you to approach this special day.
My Walmart tablescape mood boards (above and below) include several amazing pieces that I cannot wait to try out with my family this year. Walmart Home has a wide selection for your Thanksgiving day needs. Plus, they are very affordable. Win-win!
I have rounded up my favorites, as you can see! There are some slight differences between these two boards. Which one do you like better? The first or the second one? Let me know in the comments below!

These mood boards will help you visualize the five tips I want to share with you today!
Plan by using lists, post-it notes, or whatever system works for you! My mom has always kept post-it notes around to easily see them and add things as she thinks of them.
Gather all the cookware and baking ware you need for the items you plan to cook. I love this enameled round cast iron dutch oven, and it comes in several colors (but I love red)! And, of course, having a roaster for your turkey is a Thanksgiving dinner basic. Be prepared, and grab this French roaster 2-piece turkey roaster and v rack.
Of course, it’s always a great idea to let others bring sides, desserts, or anything else that would be of help! People generally want to and enjoy contributing.
Go ahead and set your table the day before. Again, my Walmart tablescape includes these charming black and white assorted bowls; this porcelain oval handled platter; and this lovely smelling apple pumpkin candle.
Make sure you have plenty of seating and space for everyone to be comfortable around the table.
Have a program planned! Both of our moms do this, and everyone enjoys it. Programs are a way to share something meaningful with those at Thanksgiving.
Maybe you ask everyone to share something they are thankful for about the person to the left of them. Or maybe talk about a memory from a past Thanksgiving. Whatever it is, this truly helps complete a meal together and dig deeper.
Let others help you clean up! Crank up the tunes, get the kids involved too. We always help our moms break down the tables, wash the dishes, and divide up leftovers!
I love this 20-piece set that includes dish towels, washcloths, and even oven mitts. Grab this set, and everyone’s got a job.
I hope you enjoyed learning these five tips about creating a festive tablescape with these unique Walmart pieces. I am ready to give it a go!
