I am so excited to share how the wall is completely built and the first two coats of paint have been applied. One more final coat and it will be finished. Plus, I show you the furniture pieces that have arrived or are on their way with two updated mood boards.
Hi friends! Welcome back to week 4 of the One Room Challenge. If you missed the first three weeks, you can go check out week one here , week two here , and week three here. I share all about my goals for this challenge and tons of before pictures, plus the original mood boards for the two spaces that I am creating out of the current one space and progression of the wall we’re building. Before I walk you through the updates for this week, you can go here to check out all the participants for this challenge. It’s already been such fun joining alongside so many creative and talented other blogger friends!
This wall has come along wonderfully, we couldn’t be happier with it. I wanted to first share where we left off last week, as you can see in the photo below, the mudding had been applied. We were so excited to have it ready to be painted…which leads to me where we are this week.
As you can see below, the first two coats of paint are on the walls! It is a beautiful white, with some grey undertones. We went with the color, White Dove by Benjamin Moore. We still need to have one more coat painted to make it look finished. As you can see too, the ceiling is still needing to be painted but will not have that happen until the ceiling fans are installed.
The door was also added this week. Unfortunately our contractors could not find the same door encasement as the ones we have in the rest of the house, so they put in this encasement which we hope is temporary. I am on a mission to find out where to find the matching encasement, along with the same trim paint color.
The can lighting will be taken down and mud applied over the holes in the next few days. Once that is done and the ceiling fans are installed, the ceiling paint will go up. I can’t wait to see how it all comes together. The view below if standing in my daughter’s new bedroom space, looking into the cozy den area and the door that leads down to the rest of our home.
Back in week two (found here), I shared the proposed mood boards for each space we are creating for the One Room Challenge. Since that time, the furniture and other pieces we had planned to go in this space have changed somewhat. We are equally happy, though, about these pieces that are on their way. I will be sharing full details about these pieces in the reveal post, so stay tuned! So many great companies that have helped sponsor this transformation!
Originally the mood boards called for chandelier light fixtures. These changed to ceiling fans instead for a couple of reasons. One, my daughter preferred ceiling fan over a chandelier. I also knew how nice it would be to have one in the cozy den because of the space being smaller and possibly having several people in the room at times. I am so excited about the fans we are going to be installing! I will share all the details about them in the reveal post!
Another piece that arrived this week was this beautiful one of a kind artwork by my friend, DeAnn Art. She sent this to us and I plan to hang it in the cozy den. I love the colors and how she paints flowers. It is going to be so pretty in the space.
This is the furniture that has arrived for my daugther’s bedroom! I am thrilled with all of the pieces. She chose each of these, making it true to her style and what she loves. It’s doing to be a happy space! I will also link up each of these pieces in the reveal post, as there were so many sponsors who generously supported the pieces to go in this transformed space.
So, what do you think? I finally feel like I can truly visual how each of these spaces is going to look when they are finished. There is a lot of cleaning to do after they finish painting and putting in the ceiling fans. Then, we will begin emptying the spaces of the pieces that are not staying and putting together and styling the new ones. Fingers crossed that it will all get done in 2 weeks time!!!
It look fabulous, can’t wait to see it all dressed up.x
Thank you so much for stopping by Janette!
I truly appreciate your encouragement, and it’s getting so close to completion now!
Have a wonderful day,
Brendt
