About 1.5 years ago, Andy installed this DIY faux shiplap wall in our dining room. Installing one of these walls is something we had wanted to do for some time! I am happy to say that this budget-friendly DIY has made a significant impact in our dining room and for any space in your home.
Over the last 1.5 years, I’ve enjoyed changing out the decor that is on this wall, seasonally. With each change, I clean the smudges and marks made before hanging the new season’s decor or art. You can read about the paint we used on our wall here. It is an eggshell finish.
I always use a magic eraser to clean ours. I am sure if you’ve ever used one of these before, you’d be saying…yes, yes, yes!
You simply wet the sponge, scrub the areas that need cleaning, and like magic the marks are gone. You can see the before above and then after below!
Now for the fun part! I was ready to replace this metal wall decor on our wall with a Fall wood sign.
Hanging this sign on our faux shiplap wall was the first piece of fall decor (besides lighting my favorite fall candles) in our home for 2021. I am still needing to decorate our dining room table for fall, but you get the idea!
This sign is one of my very favorites! I have used it in our home for a couple of years now, and am enjoying it here in our dining room this year. Shop this sign and other amazing fall signs here.
When do you start decorating for fall? I can’t wait to really dive into decorating our home for the upcoming season. For now? It feels great to have the wall cleaned and ready for this next season that I love so much.
