Cool DIY Summer Candle Rings
I love the look of candle rings and made some a few years back for the fall. I was excited to make summer candle rings this year, and can’t wait to share with you this easy home decor DIY. They are a great accessory to your candles and candlesticks, bringing the outdoors in and adding that splash of green to your home for Summer. Are you ready to get started?
I knew right where to go to find my candle rings supplies: JOANN. As I walked in I found several Summer picks including some of my favorite summer plants, ferns. I grabbed several of these picks, and then the rest of my supplies that I will list below. JOANN had a huge variety of summer faux florals and greenery to choose from. While my rings are neutral, you can definitely add splashes of color to your candle rings.
Supplies for candle rings
Supplies list for cool DIY Summer candle rings:
- Several summer picks (a variety of textures looks great!) The ones I chose are here, here, and here.
- Floral tape here
- Green Cloth Wire (similar here)
- Wire Cutters here
Complete DIY candle rings
Directions for cool DIY Summer candle rings:
First, you will take one of your cloth wires, and wrap it around the base of your candle. Twist to shape it into the shape and size for the candle you will be using.

Second, clip the picks apart, separating out the stems. Then, begin by placing the stem/wire section of the pick flat on the rounded cloth wire. Twist it around the cloth wire to secure it in place.

Next, wrap the wire with floral tape. This will complete the securing process and allow no other colors to show through.
Wrap around the circle
Keep placing one stem on top of the next, creating a ring or wreath shape. It is important that all the stems are circling around in the same direction. Once you’ve made your way around the floral wire circle, you are done!
Candle ring complete
I placed the candle ring on top of my wood candlesticks then the candle fits securely on top. I do like a “drapey” look, so I made some final adjustments to the way the stems looked once I had them on the candlesticks.
Summer Candle Rings
You can use candle rings also at the base of other vessels, such as glass hurricanes and votives. The opportunities are endless!
