Tablescapes are one of my favorite ways to be creative! With spring quickly approaching, I wanted to try my hand at designing a beautiful, casual table. While the majority of this tablescape is neutral, there are splashes of happy spring colors throughout. This design is fairly simple and works with my farmhouse style. But it also works for a wide range of decor styles. Plus, at the end, several of my talented blogger friends are sharing their spring tablescapes. Be sure to check them all out!
I already had some basics on hand, like the white dishware, cloth napkins, and crystal goblets. Everything else on this table came from JOANN. They had an incredible assortment of spring and Easter decor to choose from, but I couldn’t say no to these bunny plates which launched the whole design. From there, it was easy to find pieces that coordinated with the plates to create this spring tablescape.
I found this lovely runner to place down first. It has the same pattern as the bottom of the bunny plates. While you do not want to be too matchy, this was just enough to tie it together. I fell in love with these chunky wood slices from JOANN; I had always wanted some this thick to give great height and of course awesome texture to the table. On top of the charger, I placed a white dish plus the paper bunny plate.
Now it’s time to add some height to the middle of your table. I always enjoy using glass hurricanes for my tablescapes. They are inexpensive (like these that I found at JOANN) and look great next to something like wood for an awesome texture. I used this Spring 15” Dahlia Bush (Ivory) and this Spring 16” Baby’s Breath & Eucalyptus Bush plus this Moss Patch to create my floral arrangements.
As you can see, they are a great way to add some height, but not so much as to block conversation. It can definitely be tempting to buy large, tall vessels, but be aware that it can create a barrier when people are sitting at the table.
Okay, now to add the Spring/Easter themed decor pieces!
Take this from me after many trial and errors when creating tablescapes (haha): don’t go overboard on themed items because it can actually work against you. Too many bunnies or chicks can tone down the loveliness of a table. They are great for a kid’s table though! If you want that gorgeous yet causal spring table, sprinkling in these pieces is the key to great design.
Adding another level of height was easy with these wooden eggs I found at JOANN. They had this adorable Grey Plaid Tabletop Decor and this Greenery Tabletop Decor. Plus, these speckled Blue, Purple & Green Eggs are so fun to sprinkle about the middle of the table. Plus, these gold ombre votives are a little sparkle to alongside the wood eggs.
These decorating ideas are sure to create a bright and happy table for the spring. I loved sharing these tips with you, as well as the pieces I found at JOANN to create this look. For your convenience, I have a full product list below where you can easily shop this table.
