Got clutter under your sink? Follow these five easy and super practical ideas to accomplish under sink organization in your home.
If you have to have clutter somewhere, under the kitchen sink seems to be like an OK place, haha! However, having these spaces cleaned up and organized will bring a feeling of peace to your life and an overall better function.
Let’s first take a look at the before and after collage below! In the first photo, you can see that nothing had a “home.” All of the items were just lumped together, and it wasn’t easy to see certain bottles in the back of the pile. The trash bag box was taking up a ton of storage space too. Now take a look at the after! Everything has a place; items are easy to see, easy to access, and similar items are placed together. Are you ready to get started on yours?
You will want to empty the entire space under the sink first! As you are emptying, begin creating three piles. These three piles will consist of:
Then, make sure to wipe it down. You want to create a clean and fresh start!
Utilizing tubs that may sit low (working around the garbage disposal and piping) but are non-transparent can make items hard to see. Clear organizers allow you to instantly find an item in what is a darker space.
Tip: It may feel like putting together a puzzle at first because of the disposal and piping, so measuring under the sink before purchasing your organizers is highly recommended!
I recommend using the bins you see here, as well as additional ones I am listing below that have multiple tiers which make use of vertical space.

With your clear containers, work to get as many bulky or boxed items into the containers as possible. Here’s what I mean!
We had our trash bags in the original box it came in, but throwing away that box and placing the trash bags into one of the bins looks so much more cohesive and saves space. It also allows me to see how many are left!
Another way I did this was by pouring the vinegar from the big, bulky container into a container that is tall and clear. It is a sealed container with a push-button lid that works well with the rest of my bins.
Now that you have your organizers in place, it’s time to restock under the sink! Here are some of the items that went back under my kitchen that are placed together:
Consider using the cabinet doors and how they can be used to hold things like scrub brushes! That is exactly what I did here in our kitchen. Simply add some command hooks; it’s so easy! Or, you can use organizers that have baskets and slide over the cabinet door.
Another idea is to utilize a tension rod to hang any spray bottles. This definitely opens up the door to maximizing every inch under the sink!
