If you all follow me on Instagram, I asked you all on yesterday’s post to help me create a list on what are some of the basic items/pieces to have in a home that helps create that cozy and inviting feel. It’s a great question for sure, and one I get asked a lot! I’ve written some previous blog posts on that topic here and here but loved hearing your responses and what you value too.
Without further ado, here are the top ten:
This bench in our entryway is always fun to adorn with pillows and I enjoy changing them out seasonally.
My middle daughter’s bedroom is a mix of fuzzy, cotton and velvet pillows and blankets. For further reading on this accent wall we created, you can head here.
This chest in our entrway area hold both real and faux greenery.
I knew I wanted a functional, neutral rug for our entrways and living room areas, and these jute ones did the job!
Our breakfast table holds a linen runner and napkins, combined with sea grass coasters and pops of marble and galvanized metal, creating a casual and cozy feel. To read more details on how I created this tablescape, you can head here.
Using reclaimed wood to frame special photos of your family members and loved ones definetly invokes inviting.
A collection on vintage rolling pins sit inside a pitcher, while an old scale peeks through the chicken wire surrounded by mugs.
An oversized basket sits underneath a chippy table in our foyer. For further reading on how to create a cozy and inviting entryway, you can head here.
Two custom made linen curtains hang above our kitchen sink and a custom made linen sink curtain below it. To read about how we painted our kitchen cabinets, you can head here for all the details.
Set of matching lamps on our antique buffet table for soft lighting at night.
What do you think? I’m pretty sure if I walked into a home that had these pieces, it would feel oh so cozy and inviting. Are there any you would add to this list? I’d love to know!
