If you all follow me on Instagram, I asked you all on yesterday’s post to help me create a list on what are some of the basic items/pieces to have in a home that helps create that cozy and inviting feel. It’s a great question for sure, and one I get asked a lot! I’ve written some previous blog posts on that topic here and here but loved hearing your responses and what you value too.
So, I compiled your feedback with mine and created this list of the top ten pieces that will help you create a cozy and inviting home. And, who doesn’t want that?!
Without further ado, here are the top ten:
1. Pillows
This bench in our entryway is always fun to adorn with pillows and I enjoy changing them out seasonally.
2. Throws and Blankets
My middle daughter’s bedroom is a mix of fuzzy, cotton and velvet pillows and blankets. For further reading on this accent wall we created, you can head here.
3. Greenery
This chest in our entrway area hold both real and faux greenery.
4. Rugs
I knew I wanted a functional, neutral rug for our entrways and living room areas, and these jute ones did the job!
5. Layers and Textures
Our breakfast table holds a linen runner and napkins, combined with sea grass coasters and pops of marble and galvanized metal, creating a casual and cozy feel. To read more details on how I created this tablescape, you can head here.
6. Personal Photos
Using reclaimed wood to frame special photos of your family members and loved ones definetly invokes inviting.
7. Vintage Items
A collection on vintage rolling pins sit inside a pitcher, while an old scale peeks through the chicken wire surrounded by mugs.
8. Baskets

9. Curtains/Drapes

10. Soft Lighting/Candles
Set of matching lamps on our antique buffet table for soft lighting at night.
