Welcome friends! If you are coming from Laura over at The Turquoise Home, wasn’t her fall kitchen tour beautiful? Her home is so inviting and looks lovely for the fall.

I am excited to share with y’all how I decorated with neutrals in our house this fall.  From our fireplace and living area, to the kitchen and master bedroom, my goal was to utilize grays/whites/blacks/greenery (I do consider greenery a neutral) in our home. So, come on in! I can’t wait to tell you all about how to decorate this fall with neutrals.

1.  TEXTURES

One of the best ways to create depth and interest when decorating with neutrals is to have several different textures in the space. As you can see, there are a variety of textures present in these spaces, including faux greenery, chippy wood, galvanized containers, and painted pumpkins. Each texture adds great interest to the eye and kept within the theme of neutrals it feels exciting and time-worn which is great for farmhouse style.

2. LAYERING

This is one of my favorite ways to decorate, especially in the cooler months when we all want to add layering of clothing. Think of it in that way; whether you layer wood beads on top of a glass jug, faux garland around wooden signs, or stack galvanized pots with clay pots, it adds a wonderful dimension to your home. Think in terms of varying heights, sizes, and materials. (And avoiding being too matchy!)

3.  FALL THEMED ITEMS

From fresh and faux pumpkins to neutral colored mums that sit in crocks, utilizing natural fall items is an excellent way to tie a bow on around the entire look. Items like the scroll you see below, the wooden signs that have quotes geared towards the fall, and even Thanksgiving decor are all ways to bring it all together.
