Garland

Now that it is officially November, the holidays are fair game to begin talking about. But, for many, you may not quite be ready to decorate your home yet, and that’s okay! These crafts are for you to reference when you are ready to start decorating your own homes for Christmas.

I wanted this Christmas wood bead garland to be bright and happy yet keep with my colors for Christmas this year.  I enjoy using neutrals, greenery, and splashes of red, and you’ll pick up on that ratio in the pattern of the garland I am sharing today.

Let’s DIY some garland!

Supplies for Christmas wood bead garland:

It’s a simple list!

Threading the beads on twine

Instructions for Christmas wood bead garland:

  1. Pull out a very long piece of twine (@2x as long as you think your garland will be) but don’t cut it.
  2. Begin lacing the beads with the twine, creating whatever pattern you like! Protip: The twine will start to fray, and when it does, just cut a little off the end and keep threading. You can also tie a tiny knot, that can help too!
  3. Once you are happy with the length, it’s time to make and add the tassels.  See the photos above for how to make these tassels, or head over to Pinterest for tassel video tutorials.
  4. After you have the tassels tied on, you are done!

Tassel steps

There are so many ways you can style your festive garland for the holidays, including draping over a stack of books, wrapping around your tree, looping over a large glass jug full of winter greenery.

How could you see using it in your home this Christmas? Happy holiday crafting!
