We have officially entered summer, and I am so excited to refresh our fireplace decor for this light and airy season. I have shared about farmhouse fireplace decor many times here on my blog before; you can find them all linked at the end of this post. Today I am sharing my tried and true, easy fireplace formula that can be used each season.
These farmhouse fireplace decor ideas are easy and budget-friendly. Like I mentioned above, I apply the same steps each time I change out mantel decor.
I knew right where to go for budget-friendly and farmhouse fireplace decor: JOANN! They had the best selection of that light, and airy feel I was going for. I love their stems, faux plants, glassware, baskets, and farmhouse signs especially. It didn’t take long for me to decide that their items with splashes of navy or other blue varieties would tie in with the rest of my living room decor that I shared all about in this post here.
Exact products I used to decorate my Summer fireplace from JOANN:
Summer Monstera Arrangement HERE.
Summer Urchin Planter HERE.
Summer 31”x17.5” Wall Decor Family HERE.
Summer 24in Candyleaf Spray HERE.
Blue Frosted Bud Vase here.
Summer Weave Basket with Handles – Ombre HERE.
Now it was time to head home and put my three farmhouse fireplace decor ideas into action for summer. (Remember, you can apply this formula to any season!)
Make sure you are starting with an empty mantel. Your anchor piece (also called an inspiration piece) is what will go in the middle of your mantel. I already had a large sign on hand that I knew would coordinate with all of my JOANN items, so I leaned it against the wall.
Summer glassware on the mantel
Think of the top of your anchor piece as the top point of a triangle, then imagine with your eyes drawing down the lines to complete the triangle. The other two points (one on each side) are where you want to fill in to “complete the triangle.” The key is to choose pieces that add interest and are in line with your theme or style.
On the left side of the fireplace mantel, I choose to use beautiful glassware pieces from JOANN. These bud vase pieces added splashes of blue, which reminds me of the ocean. To complete the look, I added some of this faux greenery (plus a few more stems I already had on hand) and a stack of books for a height variance.
On the right, I used wooden candlesticks I already had on hand. Grouping items in odd sets can be more pleasing to the eye than even groupings.
To complete your fireplace decor, place items around the fireplace hearth. You can do this in many ways, but I chose a basket with these two pillows from JOANN. It was love at first sight, haha! And on the other side, I found this adorable white planter and set this faux plant inside of it. Easy peasy, right!?
As you can see, applying these three easy steps is an applicable and easy way to approach the way you decorate your fireplace for summer. Don’t miss this last bonus idea, though!
This space adjoins our mantel and fireplace area, so I couldn’t help but add touches of summer farmhouse decor here too. How cute is this “Family” sign from JOANN + it’s navy (perfect for our color scheme!). And, this navy and seagrass basket is icing on the cake.
