Welcome y’all! So happy to have you dropping by our front entryway and foyer today.  As you enter our home, a wreath from the Magnolia Target line hangs on the door. It’s flanked on both sides with oversized black lanterns and potted asparagus ferns.  These kind of ferns are my favorites because they are easy to keep alive and they drape so prettily around your pot.

We want our home to feel casual and comfortable, giving off a feeling of “stay awhile” when family and friends come over.  By having warm, natural rugs and lots of soft textures like these pillows (lace-up ticking pillows from Jenni, The Vintage Songbird) and blanket it helps create these feelings of coziness.  A gallery wall of various pieces hangs above a chalk-painted bench (originally an outdoor teakwood bench).  I used Annie Sloan Duck Egg blue chalk paint + Annie Sloan clear wax to achieve this look.  My decor is primarily neutrals but I enjoy splashes of color in small doses throughout our home.

I enjoy the farmhouse decor feel, the time-worn look is casual and comfortable.  This oversized dough bowl was a find at a local barn sale.  Larger pieces like these are fun to use creatively; whether its leaning it up against a wall like this, or sitting atop a large coffee table filled with old books, they can be great statement pieces for your spaces.

This is the view directly in front of you as you enter our home.  The metal wall buckets are holding faux lavender and greenery for summer. More found items from pickin’ and barn sales are sprinkled in this area along with a hand painted horse by ArtbySarahHood (Etsy). As always, I love to have lots of layers in my spaces, so hanging the painting atop the 6 panel mirror gives it added dimension and texture.

The galvanized watering can is holding some faux lambs ear and adds seasonal flair, as we all know in the south during the summer months those watering cans are used daily for our outdoor plants.

This flower market scroll by Alyssa, Cottonwood Shanty, was the inspiration piece to create this indoor flower market. Two mallow plant topiaries provide symmetry and height to this space, while various pots and faux plants fill in the space between. Words in decor are fun, often seen in farmhouse decor.  I had my daughter write the word “bloom” on the paddle chalkboard from Janis, Terra Cottage

Atop the scroll I placed a faux garland from JoAnn’s Fabric store.  The garland creates a summery feel and added a bit more height to this space to help balance higher ceilings.  All of this sits atop a chalk painted-dresser.
