Adding pom-pom trim is such an easy way to embellish Christmas hand towels! You will love how much character they add and how little time they take. These would make cute gifts for those on your Christmas list and also will add a festive look to your own home.

I am so excited about this DIY no-sew project today because it involves one of my favorite embellishments, pom-poms! Pom-poms come in all shapes, sizes, and styles! You can make your own pom poms or buy them at the store. And I’m using pom pom trim for my DIY today! Plus, at the end of this post, there are several other bloggers that are sharing a pom pom Christmas DIY/craft too. Let’s get started!

When I say this is easy, I mean it truly is! I just love how in such a short amount of time, adding pom pom trim makes such a cute statement to a store bought Christmas hand towel.

Here is the (short) supplies list:

  1. Hand Towel (s)

  2. Pom-Pom Trim

  3. Hot glue gun + glue sticks

I found the cute towels I am embellishing at JOANN. I was instantly drawn to the buffalo check and vintage trucks. I plan on placing mine in our kitchen to add some splashes of red to the space. You can also place these in bathrooms for some Christmas cheer.

Next, you want to locate pom pom trim at your local craft store. I found mine at JOANN, and I chose white and red. Check the length of your towels to see how much trim you will need per towel. Tip: Don’t forget to account for lining the front and back of the towel you are adding the trim to. For example, my towels were 16” in length, so I doubled that and added a couple of extra inches for any mess up, and got 34” of each color trim.

Then you simply turn your towels over and get your hot glue gun ready! Once it is hot, line the bottom edge of the towels and add the trim. Don’t stretch it tightly, it looks better smoothed on without being pulled too tight. After the glue has cooled down, turn it over, and you are finished!

Such a cute idea! Now I want to put pom poms on all my towels. I pinned it to my holiday board so I can make some!
