At the end of a long day, many of us want a bedroom that is like a sanctuary. We want a place in which to relax, to be cozy, and to sleep well. With this in mind, a must-have checklist includes items that are both beautiful to look at and at the same time, function beautifully. This was how I approached our master bedroom “refresh” this fall. I was so happy with the way it turned out that it inspired me to create this must-have checklist for a dreamy master bedroom.

I found every piece I needed from Bee & Willow, which is Bed Bath & Beyond’s first-ever private label whole home brand. The Bee & Willow Home pieces I chose are inline with the modern farmhouse look of our home and offer a chic, yet warm and inviting feel. When I walk into our room, it just feels exactly the way I wanted it to feel. From the functional end tables and lamps to the cozy quilts and blankets, I can’t wait to share in detail these must-have pieces. Let’s get started!

Bed

We had a headboard with a bed frame for a few years now, and while that worked fine, we feel like we’ve upgraded dramatically with this stunning whitewashed king size bed. The first time I saw this Bee & Willow™ Home Wood Slat Bed in White Wash online, I knew it would be what I would choose for our master bedroom refresh. It was not time-consuming at all to put together, and it’s so sturdy. We love having a headboard and a footboard with our bed now. This bed is perfect if you are looking for a modern spin on farmhouse style, with its whitewashed boards creating great character for our room.

Quilts And Duvets

As far as I can remember, back to my childhood days, quilts have always been a part of the homes I have lived in. The quilt sets we received from the Bee & Willow line are each gorgeous. I always love a creamy/white quilt as the foundation to any bed in our home, and this Bee & Willow™ Home French Vintage Ruffled Quilt Set met that desire perfectly. Then, I went out of my typical non-pattern style and chose this lovely Bee & Willow™ Home Terra Rosa Bedding Collection, and couldn’t be more thrilled with the way it warms our bed for fall. I laid the quilt on top of a duvet and triple folded it at the end of our bed for a cozy look. At night, we unfold it to use for extra warmth.

Pillows

Mixing florals with stripes is always pretty in home decor, and that is why I chose these three Bee & Willow™ Home Sawyer European Pillow Shams in Grey for our bed. When using euro pillows on a king-size bed, it is best to go with three, and for a queen size bed with two. Next up, are two king-size french vintage ruffle shams that are part of this quilt set. I chose to use these to coordinate with the quilt that is used on top of the entire bed to pull it all together (instead of matching the quilt at the base of the bed). Then, I simply added a splash of color with this Bee & Willow™ Home Lotus Square Throw Pillow in Coral. I love the fall color on our bed! And for a super cozy touch, I added these Bee & Willow™ Home Brushed Buffalo Throw Pillows in Grey (Set of 2) to the bench at the base of our bed.

Mirror and Accessories

In every room, adding a mirror for extra light and texture is highly recommended! I knew that this Bee & Willow™ Home Distressed 26-Inch Round Wall Mirror in Rustic White would be perfect for our room refresh. Its distressed look adds depth and a time-worn look that is in line with our farmhouse style. Just as I recommend having a mirror, glass in a space is also a way to add interest. So, I chose to place these two Bee & Willow™ Home Wire-Wrapped Glass Hurricane Candle Holders on top of our dresser. I filled them with faux fall florals, but you could also use candles in them!

Nightstands/End Tables And Lamps

Our new Bee & Willow™ Home Closed Nightstands in Natural have me so excited! We have never had “official” nightstands in our 20 years of marriage, and now I’ll never go back, haha! These nightstands are so wonderful because of the function they provide for us. Not only do they have a drawer, but also a sleek push open door that can hold tons of things! I use it to keep my computer, accordion file folder, checkbook, and more! My husband’s books are now nicely concealed and not stacked haphazardly under an open concept table. We love these nightstands; they are quite stable and exceptionally well made. On top, we simply placed these Bee & Willow™ Home Hudson LED Table Lamps with Bulb in Black. These lamps are the icing on the cake and provide a soft light option rather than having to use an overhead light at night or early morning. It’s always a great idea to add some black to any space like I did with these lamps.

Blankets

Blankets are, of course, part of the must-have checklist for a dreamy bedroom! This Bee & Willow™ Home Cable Knit Throw Blanket is so very cozy! My son enjoys watching TV in our bed, and since it stays made during the day, he uses this blanket to keep warm. It’s the perfect weight for the moments you want to place something over your shoulders or legs. Plus, it’s so soft!

Rug

Though I did venture out in some pieces, I always love and come back to jute rugs. This Bee & Willow™ Home Fireside Jute Braided 8′ x 10′ Area Rug in Natural is so well made. I loved the detail it offered with having a finished edge, plus it is lined on the bottom and doesn’t move when you walk on it. This alleviates the need for a rug pad, in my opinion. It also has not shed at all, which is a win in the natural rug world. We love the contrast it adds to the whitewashed bed too. A rug truly anchors the space where your bed and nightstands are in your bedroom.
