Easy Fruit Salad With Fruit Dip Recipe

I remember going over to my grandparent’s house when I was growing up and loving my grandmother’s delicious and fresh fruit salad. She seemed to serve it with most meals, and it also tasted perfect alongside our breakfast or dinners together. I remember how finely chopped all the fruits were and how the blend of colors created a yummy treat. Although I don’t make it as frequently as she did, our family enjoys having it when we do make it.

Making a fruit salad is easy! For this one today, I just grabbed what I had on hand and began chopping. Again, smaller pieces are the way to go. If you are using berries, I place them in a large bowl first. Then, you can add other fruits as we did.

Tip: If you are using bananas and apples, adding some lemon juice to your fruit salad will help keep them from going brown.

All ages can help with making fruit salad. My son Paul really enjoyed helping. Just add the remaining chopped fruit and instead of stirring the fruit together, just fold it. Otherwise, the fruit can get “mushy” and not look very appealing.

We decided to take some ingredients we had on hand to make a fruit dip recipe to go alongside the salad.

Ingredients for Fruit Dip

  • Plain, Greek Milk-fat Yogurt-individual serving size

  • Vanilla- 1/8 teaspoon

  • Brown Sugar-1/4 cup

That’s it for the dip! We kind of eyeballed these ingredients but I shared what we basically used. Just mix all the ingredients together and enjoy. Paul especially loved the fruit with the dip. It is delicious!
