This past weekend, our family of six had a great time at Turquoise Place Resort in Orange Beach, Alabama. Growing up, I’ve always loved Alabama’s beaches.
The resort is a short drive from Birmingham, just under 4.5 hours away. With kids aged 10 to 20, everyone enjoyed the resort. It’s perfect for all ages and has so much to offer. Ready to hear more? Let’s go!

Spacious and Clean Condominiums Facing the Ocean: From the moment we stepped into our condominium, we were blown away by the beautiful ocean views and the luxurious accommodations.

The spacious layout provided ample room for our family to relax and unwind. Plus, the cleanliness of the condo exceeded our expectations, ensuring a comfortable stay. The highlight? A private Jacuzzi and a fully equipped kitchen, allowing us to enjoy meals with a view and relax.
Outdoor Activities Galore: Turquoise Place Resort is perfect for families seeking outdoor adventure. With multiple pools, including a lazy river and a water slide, there was never a dull moment.

We all enjoyed floating in the lazy river and our children all tried out the slide.
Additionally, if you have younger children, the playground is another great place for children to enjoy while staying there.
Convenient Beach Access: One of the highlights of this resort is the short walk on the boardwalk to the beaches and waters of the Gulf Coast. We loved being able to easily go from poolside to beachfront.
On-Site Dining Options: Throughout the day, we appreciated the convenience of having on-site restaurant options at Turquoise Place Resort. We all had various eating preferences, and the restaurant catered to them all perfectly.
Plus, they can pack it up for you to take down to the beach. Our favorite were the Shirley temples and basket with fried mac and cheese and ravioli bites!

Why Turquoise Place Resort is Magical in the Fall & Winter
I’m thrilled to share that Turquoise Place Resort is just as incredible in the cooler months as it is during summer! Whether you’re planning a fall getaway or a winter retreat, this family-friendly resort continues to wow us. Here’s why we highly recommend visiting this time of year:
1. Indoor Pools and Hot Tubs
We had the best time splashing around in the huge indoor pool. The hot tubs were also amazing—especially while watching the sunset over the beach through the massive windows. Plus, the sauna and steam rooms were a treat! (It was my first time in a steam room, and wow—it’s amazing!)
2. Private Balcony Hot Tubs
Every condo features a private hot tub on the balcony! I loved siting in the hot tub during the mornings while sipping coffee and again in the evenings; highlight moments of our trip.
3. Spacious Outdoor Furniture
The large, cozy outdoor furniture made it easy to enjoy card games and family time during the day while soaking in the warmer hours. Even in cooler weather, sitting together and watching the waves was so relaxing.
4. Beach Rentals Still Available
Even in the off-season, you can rent comfy beach chairs and umbrellas by the ocean. It’s a great way to enjoy beach time without having to bring your own setup!
5. On-Site Poolside Dining
The poolside restaurant remains open, serving delicious breakfasts (my son discovered breakfast tacos!) and lunches. Having food and drinks at the resort provided options to not have to leave the property!
6. Festive Christmas Decorations
When we arrived, the lobby was decked out in gorgeous Christmas decor. The festive atmosphere added so much warmth and joy to our stay—perfect for getting into the holiday spirit.
