Our 4th Annual Galentine’s Party in Birmingham, Alabama

If you’re looking for Galentine’s party ideas that feel fun, easy, and not overcomplicated, this girls’ night is full of inspiration you can recreate in your own home

Every February, I host something that has become one of my favorite traditions, our annual Galentine’s party. This year was our fourth year celebrating together here in Birmingham, Alabama, and it truly might have been the best one yet.

Food Ideas for a Galentine’s Party

Easy Food Boards Everyone Can Bring

One of the reasons this Galentine’s party works so well every year is the food setup. Instead of one person doing it all, each friend brings a food board of their choice.

Over the years we’ve had everything from veggie boards and sweet boards to a full fries board with different sauces to dip in. It keeps things relaxed, creative, and so much fun to see what everyone brings.

Galentine’s Party Drinks

I also set up a Shirley Temple drink station with syrups, Valentine’s cups, fun straws, and all the extras. We spread everything out across the kitchen island and spend the night grazing, laughing, and catching up.

The Favorite Things Gift Exchange

Our favorite tradition of the night is the “favorite things” gift exchange. Each person brings three identical gifts under a set budget, this year we kept it at $20 or under. We wrap the gifts, draw numbers, and take turns choosing. You can either open a new gift from the pile or steal one that has already been opened. It always leads to the most laughter and friendly chaos.

This year I ended up with some new favorites like reusable eye masks, luxury laundry wash, and rhinestone earrings. I brought beaded necklaces and hair perfume from Amazon, and they were a hit. I’ll be sharing a full list below of everyone’s favorite things so you can easily shop them too

Galentine’s Party Decor Ideas

Simple DIY Decor That Feels Festive

For decor, I kept things simple but festive. We created a DIY balloon wall using blown-up balloons attached with glue dots—no helium needed. I added cut curtain streamers behind the balloons and pressed them onto the wall for an easy photo backdrop.

In the dining room, I layered a pink gauzy table runner, added these Amazon vases with floating candles, and tucked in roses for a soft Valentine’s touch. I also made a DIY Galentine’s banner to pull everything together.

What I Wore to Our Galentine’s Party

For Galentine’s night, I kept my outfit simple but fun. I wore a black bodysuit paired with a pink skirt, and added the cutest heart bracelet to lean into the Valentine’s vibe. Everything I wore is from Amazon, and I’m linking it all HERE so you can easily recreate the look for your own girls’ night or Galentine’s party.

I also had my hair and makeup done, which made the night feel extra special and gave me one less thing to think about while hosting. It’s such a small detail, but it really helped me feel put together and confident going into the evening.

To make things even more fun, I set out heart-shaped sunglasses for everyone to grab and wear for photos. They were such an easy touch but made the pictures feel playful and festive. Between the outfit details, the accessories, and the photo props, it all came together in a way that felt fun, effortless, and very Galentine’s.
