Hi friends! I’m so glad you are joining us on this “’Tis the Season Holiday Home Tour.” I am honored to be joining these five other incredibly talented bloggers on this festive tour of our homes. So, welcome, come on in! 

I like to spread Christmas cheer throughout our entire home, so we will be hopping from various rooms in my home today.

My Christmas décor this year was all about coziness, lots of layers and textures, and splashes of red. While not every room is perfectly outfitted with these elements, it drove my choices when utilizing what I already had, and what new purchases I’d make for my holiday décor.

As you come up our front stairs, we have a front porch that has various furniture pieces inviting family and friends alike to come sit and stay awhile. It’s a southern thing y’all! This bench was one that my husband’s grandfather made by hand; it’s quite special to have it placed here on our front porch today. The old door (from my childhood home) leans against the brick wall behind it, layered with a scrap wood star, and a flocked garland wreath.

Entering our front door, you walk into a shared space that is our entryway/foyer with our living room. Various elements like a bench, a coat rack, a table flanked with a mirror, and a long jute rug combine to give one the impression that this is truly a separate area, an entryway. It’s easy to accomplish this in open-concept homes by adding these kinds of pieces. 

The living room is a place to spend time with family and friends by the fireplace talking or watching our favorite Christmas movies.

In our dining room, we have a hutch that was my great, great grandmothers that holds both old and new pieces. From silver that my mom passed down to me and Rae Dunn pottery pieces to chippy wood pieces and our china, this cabinet mixes numerous textures giving the appearance of a time-worn aesthetic. 

Across the way sits an antique table my husband and I purchased years ago at an antique show in Atlanta, GA. It has served several roles through the years, and now it holds an oversized barn wood clock dressed with a wreath and sleigh leaning against it. (The other various décor elements change regularly.) For now, a pair of chippy spindles layered with greenery is a perfect fit for the season.

In our kitchen, this chippy, chicken-wire cabinet got a Christmas makeover by adding simple, budget friendly items from Target. 

I wanted our bedroom to also feel festive. By adding various greenery pieces (garland, trees on the side table, etc.) as well as splashes of red, it made our room decor feel cohesive with the rest of our home. The dreamy blanket can be found here, as well as the tray, “warm and cozy” pillow, and mugs. 

In my middle daughter’s room, I layered a wreath on her iron gate and added some red touches with these red ticking pillows which can be found here. I buy bedding basics that are neutral, allowing for easy and budget-friendly changes to come seasonally by simply swapping out throw blankets, decorative pillows/pillow covers, or even rugs. The gray bedding and pillowcases can be found here.
