Simple Wreath Christmas Centerpiece

This Christmas centerpiece idea is so easy you will wish you had known to do it earlier. You most likely already have the supplies on hand and will be pleasantly surprised how you can bring to life that empty space on your dining table in just under 10 minutes!

I have always enjoyed styling tablescapes, especially during the holiday season. Last year I shared how to create a kid friendly table as well as a festive (with twinkle lights backdrop) dining party tablescape. Having something in the center of the table for times like these adds a lovely touch to your dinner or party. I knew that this year I’d like to have a centerpiece on our dining table that would also work to leave out on a day to day basis over the Christmas season.

Before I share this simple wreath Christmas centerpiece idea, here are a couple of tips to consider when styling a centerpiece. Make sure the height of whatever you have placed in the middle of your table create a barrier between people conversing across the table. Something lower allows others to see each other and not have to look around the centerpiece. Also, think about the size of your centerpiece and the width of your table. Make sure you consider space to add place mats or chargers.

The first thing I did was add an antique “riser” to the middle of our table. You can use anything that may give a little height and also act to corral the items we are going to set on top of it. Next I simply placed this wreath on top of the riser. You can use any wreath and this one is very pretty with lots of various greenery textures and pine cones. Adding bright colored ornaments is one way you can bring in splashes of color if you prefer!

Then, I grabbed one of my farmhouse style crocks and set it in the middle of the wreath. This would hold my glass hurricane and candle that I added next. Having glass on your table is always a great way to add sparkle and of course with the candle lit it will provide a very warm and inviting ambience.

The last step was to add a string of battery powered fairy lights that you can find here. These give off an additional glow to this centerpiece and I love how cozy it makes everything look. Having a battery pack of fairy lights allows you to add twinkle lights without worrying about a cord! Tip: Having several of these on hand at Christmas time can add festivity to any spaces in your home.
