Terra Cotta pots are popping up everywhere this spring in farmhouse décor. It makes sense for pots to be popular in the spring because of all the beautiful flowers that are blooming. And, this season, terra cotta pots are it!

Traditionally, these rust colored pots are used outdoors to hold everything from evergreens to geraniums in the spring. They look cute on potting benches outside, too.

So why not bring a little bit of this fun and inexpensive piece into our homes?

That’s just what I did. These pots are sometimes sitting on your porches/decks/yards already and if so, this will be a free enhancement to your indoor spring décor. If you do not have any extra, you can find them at many places, including Lowe’s, Walmart, Home Depot, Dollar Tree, and Hobby Lobby. The ones that are featured in these photos are all from Hobby Lobby and Sugarboo and Co.

Terra Cotta pots look great in their natural rust color but also look cute painted and/or distressed. I like to use a mix of both, giving the space a relaxed, time-worn look.

You can fill these pots with plants (faux or real) or just leave them empty. Again, I enjoy doing a mix of both ways. The empty pots allow you to turn them on their sides or stack them. Ones that you fill with plants/greenery help add height to your space, which makes for a nice vignette.

These pots look great on your mantle with garland, on top of a cabinet, or a part of your indoor flower market! Give them a try in your home!
