4 Desserts I’m Making This Summer

Recipes | June 1, 2019

This summer I am so excited to try out some fun new desserts that our family and friends can enjoy making and eating together! Our summer days and nights allow for more time to bake and enjoy a dessert (or 2!) together. I can just see my daughters in the kitchen now, creating these delicious desserts this summer.

I have joined up with several blogger friends to share with y’all four summer desserts that you are sure to enjoy. Each one offers something different but the one thing they have in common is that they taste delicious on these long, hot summer days. Let’s get going!

For me, vanilla ice cream is so nostalgic. I remember being a child and eating it at my parent’s home on summer nights, and being served bowls of it at my grandparents’ lake house all summer long. It will always be a dessert that reminds me of summer. I am sharing an easy recipe to make that includes, you guessed it, vanilla ice cream! When I say easy, I mean it can be made in just a minutes time and pretty much no mess!

I have always enjoyed berries on vanilla ice cream, but I wanted to try something a little different which led me to this citrus-inspired recipe. This recipe is simply vanilla ice cream topped with orange mint sauce. Sounds delicious, right!?! I also offer various options such as coconut and slivered almonds you can use in place of the mint, that are sure to meet everyone’s taste preference.

Head here to get the orange mint sauce recipe (you won’t believe how simple it truly is) and try it out for yourself!

Janine shared a recipe for making Creamy Mini Strawberry Tarts. (Yes, please!) Not only are they lovely, but she says the taste is comparable to a fancy European pastry. Janine encourages you to try this recipe, even though it may have several steps, because of how wonderful they turn out! I’m thinking this would be a wonderful ladies tea dessert. I’m up for the challenge, aren’t you?! Head here to check it out!

Ashley shared The Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies ; with a name like that, I’m all in!! Just looking at these cookies has me wanting to make them as soon as possible. Upon her recommendation, pair them with a glass of milk for the perfect combination. Her recipe is easy to follow and she mentions that once they are made they don’t last long. I’m betting that will be the case in our home too! Can’t wait to bake these.

Sarah shared an easy Fourth of July Dessert that just looks so festive for summer! It has angel food cake as the base of the dessert, and then piles on the berry and whip cream goodness! You have to go see how she styled this whole table; it’s such a fun set up for children. I know my kids would love this and plan to try it out all the way down to the mason jars tied with patriotic ribbons! Head here to read more about this dessert.
