These easy DIY New Years’ Eve cupcakes will add sparkle to any get-together you may be hosting or attending. With just a few items, you can create festive glitter paper stars to use as toppers for your cupcakes. They are sure to ring in the New Year with flair!

DIY New Years’ Eve Cupcakes

I used supplies I had on hand to create these New Years’ Eve cupcakes. We had some cute wooden stars on hand that I used to trace the shape onto white cardboard. Once I had traced 12 stars, I cut them out. This all took under 15 minutes.

 

 

Next, grab some candy sticks or popsicle sticks to glue your stars. I cut mine in half so they would not be too tall for the cupcakes. Then, you can use either regular craft glue to mod podge and put it on one side of the cardboard stars.

Then, press each star into the glitter on the glue side. I love the gold for New Year’s Eve, but you can also use silver, black or white too! It does not take long for these to dry! Lastly, turn your glittered side over and use hot glue to glue on the sticks. That’s it!

You can see how festive and cute they turn out! I love how they took grocery store vanilla cupcakes to another level in just a short amount of time! This DIY is something all ages can do; my 6-year-old son helped make them along with me.
