It occurred to me not too long ago that when it came to my daughters’ bathroom, I had just not paid it much attention. Outside of refreshing floor mats and shower curtains, the space has stayed rather bland. Well, a few weeks back, I finally decided it was time to add some farmhouse flair to their bathroom; it was time to bring it in line with the rest of our home.

Their bathroom is small, having only one sink and a small vanity area. It was still painted the original brown color from when we first bought the house so I created an accent wall with wallpaper that I knew would be the jump start for my farmhouse style makeover for their bathroom.

To create farmhouse style in their bathroom, I wanted to add warmth by using wood pieces, greenery, unique storage, and some signs for their wall decor.

I was excited when I found everything I needed with a trip to JOANN. The wide selection of farmhouse decor at JOANN made for a one-stop shop and easily allowed me to achieve the look I wanted.

I couldn’t wait to get home and set everything up. In no time at all, I had transformed the lackluster space into a modern farmhouse bathroom. Here’s how I did it:

Wooden Signs

If you look through any farmhouse-style room, you most likely will at least wood sign with words written on it. I love having these signs in our home, not only for their decor value but for the positive messages they bring into our home. These signs from JOANN were the perfect messages I wanted our girls to see each day as they got ready for school.

DIY Mason Jar Organizer

Ball jars are another mark of true farmhouse style. You’ll find them used in a multitude of ways from candle holders to flower vases. When I saw these ball jars at JOANN and this rustic piece of wood, I knew that this was the perfect DIY project to create. I wanted to challenge myself and try to make some unique storage for the girls smaller items like makeup, Q-tips, and cotton balls. Baskets

Having a place to easily access every day needs like toilet paper is essential for any bathroom. When I saw this basket at JOANN (similar one here), I knew it would be perfect for holding toilet paper. It’s pretty modern farmhouse vibe added warmth and was a great way to discreetly hide this daily essential. Another way to use baskets in your bathroom is on your wall! And using a wooden ladder in your bathroom is definitely farmhouse decor. I loved how this basket ladder from JOANN (similiar idea here)provided additional storage for things like washcloths and hand towels, but for now, holds some fun faux greenery.

Fun Towel Holders

When thinking in terms of farmhouse style, incorporating time-worn pieces is essential. While you may not include authentic antique pieces, replicas are an easy way to give this a go! A nod to the past, these adorable black faucet towel holders caught my eye immediately and achieved this effect perfectly. For those extra towels, folding them on top of a stool completes this corner. This mini table turned stool adds warmth and function to this space.
