Halloween is just a few short days away, and I couldn’t be more excited about this fun night of trick or treating and children in their costumes. It was fun to decorate our home for Halloween this year! I shared 3 ways to add Halloween to your fall decor here. When I decorated for Halloween I wanted to make sure it blended in with my current fall decor but would capture the whimsical and semi-spooky nature of Halloween. Today, I am thrilled to share with you views from my back porch, as well as, seven other amazing spaces that are sure to cast a spell on getting you inspired to trying these ideas out in your own home.
To create my Halloween look, I utilized décor I had on hand plus Halloween/fall home décor and florals from JOANN.
My fall decor is primarily neutral (you can read more about it here and here), so it just made sense to add the color black for Halloween since black is considered a neutral most of the time. I loved these black and white buffalo check pillows from JOANN and wanted to make them unique by adding some of their tassel trimming (similar trim found here) for a simple little DIY. (You can find instructions on the JOANN app).
I love using words in my decor day to day, so it just makes sense to use this concept in my Halloween decor also. Plus, it looks cohesive with the rest of my home. My tip would be to use items such as a doormat, wooden sign, and pillows with words on them as they usually appear in farmhouse decor.
Adding a few whimsical pieces is fun to do, especially when it’s a holiday like Halloween! I just stuck to my color palette when adding my whimsical pieces for our porch, like the spooky black tree and haunted house like lanterns.
Now let’s take a look at the Halloween decor that my seven talented friends shared on their blogs!
Dreaming Of Homemaking
My friend, Sarah, created this amazing spooky play house for her children. She added the perfect amount of creepy by using the graveyard markings and skeleton animals with fun by using paper bats and pumpkins. You can find her post here.
Aratari At Home
My friend, Lindsay, created this mysterious and festive tablescape. I couldn’t love her use of colors more plus the gauzy fabric running down the table makes for a perfect Halloween feel. You can find her post here.
Bless This Nest
My friend, Carissa, created this fun and spooky Halloween candy bar for her guests to enjoy. What a great idea to place the treats up high and allow the rest of the table to be draped with cobwebs and adorned with pumpkins. You can find her post here.
We’re The Joneses
My friend, Merichelle, created a frightful front porch and shares all about her modern chic Halloween decor elements. She is so talented at mixing elegance with whimsy! You can read her post here.
The Tattered Pew
My friend, Kelly, created this fun Halloween porch by utilizing a traditional orange and black color palette with pops of crows and cobwebs to complete the look. Even her famous pew, Ms. Fanny, got all dressed up for Halloween. You can read her post here.
Lemons To Lovelys
My friend, Marci, decorated her home with orange and black, with my favorite part being the BOO decoration. She shares a full supplies list and instructions on how to do this fun DIY in her post that you can read here.
My 100 Year Old Home
My friend, Leslie, shared how to do creative table decorations for your guests. She explains how to do each one of these easy ideas, including cute duct tape pumpkins and a delicious, yet basic cookie recipe. You can read her post here.
I loved sharing each of these spaces with you, and I hope you are inspired to try some (if not all) in your own home. So many ways to spread Halloween fun for family and friends alike; from the inside to the outside of your home. May you have a spoooook-tacular Halloween!
